President

To facilitate Board meetings and to prepare weekly agenda
•     To facilitate Council meetings and to communicate with Council members on a regular basis, either in person, over the phone, or via e-mail (in that order of preference)
•     To develop a Band philosophy and to lead the Board in setting a direction for the group
•     To plan and schedule future events, upon approval of the entire Board
•     To communicate current and upcoming events and other pertinent information to the Band at rehearsal and via e-mail, so to supplement the Secretary's weekly e-mail
•     To ensure that performances and rehearsals run smoothly
•     To ensure that the responsibilities of Board members, Council members, Conductors (including Drum Major), Section Leaders, and
Fanfare are fulfilled properly, and to assume those responsibilities that are not, including but not limited to:
–     arranging for the manufacture of Penn Band sweaters
–     communicating with Central Uniforms for the fitting of Band khakis (tan dickies)
–     ensuring that CD order requests are filled
–     tabulating membership attendance at events
–     copying and distributing music to members
–     distributing equipment and peripherals
–     coordinating roadtrips
•     To learn all members' names and to interact with them on as personal a basis as possible
•     To communicate with Band Alumni and generate thank you letters to benefactors
•     To represent the Band on the Performing Arts Council (PAC) and its Singers, Musicians and Comedians (SMAC) subcommittee, and to vote on matters under consideration
•     To communicate with the PAC Board and membership of the Band's position on matters under consideration
•     To take over the Treasurer's responsibilities with regard to SAC meetings and communication with the SAC Board and membership in the event that the Treasurer is not able to fulfill these responsibilities

Vice-President

•     To be responsible for the creation (and final script) of all pregame and halftime shows, including:
–     Scheduling and attending weekly showwriting meetings
–     Creating a final draft of shows with an understanding of what is appropriate
–     Delivering final drafts of shows for submission to the BPC on the preceeding Wednesday night, 10 days prior to the game.
•     To be available to fill in for any other officer who may be unable, either temporarily or permanently, to perform their duties.
•     To be responsible for any other tasks designated at board meetings or otherwise.
•     To deal with criticisms in a calm and polite manner.
•     To work with and aid the travel manager in travel and housing arangements,    including:
–     Being aware of all travel plans, including routes, stops, and other details.
–     Having contact with other schools, helping figure out rooming situations
–     Getting detailed housing lists for incoming bands, helping to distribute incoming band members once they arrive

Treasurer

•     To know all current vital financial information
•     To communicate vital financial information to the Board on a regular basis
•     To maintain the band's accounts
•     To reimburse personal funds spent for accepted band purposes and to maintain a petty cash fund
•     To obtain and coordinate buses for travel
•     To prepare all budgets
•     To deliver budgets to the board and to the appropriate person for consideration our requests
•     To represent the band on SAC and vote on matters under consideration
•     To communicate with SAC steering committee and the SAC as a whole regarding appeals, additional requests, and the band's position on matters under consideration
•     To receive payments and donations and to deposit such in the appropriate account
•     To keep track of inventory items and their distribution in the case of no equipment manager
•     To keep track of and distribute band parkas
•     To collect dues

Secretary

•     take attendance at all band events
•     make sure the proper instrumentation is available for important events
•     to e-mail the band at least once a week with the schedule for the week
•     reserve rehearsal spaces for music rehearsal and field practices
•     keep track of who is meeting the band's attendance requirement and who is not
•     contact people who are not meeting the attendance requirement and also inform the section leader
•     keep updated records of the telephone numbers, addresses and AIMs of the people in band
•     determine which members need to appeal for Good Standing
