When we say we're a well-endowed band, we mean it. Out most recent world record proves it.
On October 20 the Penn Band broke a record previously held by the Harvard band for the largest conducting baton ever used when Director R. Greer Cheeseman conducted a song with a 15-foot specially constructed baton during Penn's football game against Yale at Franklin Field.
The baton shattered the previous record of 12.4 feet set two years earlier by the Harvard band.
After successfully achieving the record, the band has filed the appropriate documentation with the Guinness Book of World Records and is awaiting official recognition.
